20 Things You Must Be Educated About Greenpower Mobility

Greenpower Mobility - All-Energy Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles

Greenpower creates, builds and distributes a full suite of high-floor and low-floor all-electric heavy and medium-duty vehicles. This includes transit buses, school buses, as cargo buses as well as shuttles.

EV Star is a zero-emission vehicle that has a high degree of personalization. It's also fully FTA certified and Buy America compliant. It comes with a world-class range and ADA wheelchair-friendly features. It also has cargo delivery setups.

GreenPower Motor Company manufactures a complete range of heavy and medium-duty electric vehicles, including high-floor and lower-floor models. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which is able to accommodate various bodies and upfits for a variety of applications. The platform's clean sheet design approach allows for optimal battery pack placement and lower center of gravity resulting in higher payload to range ratios.

The EV Star REEFERX is designed to be used for mid-to-last mile refrigerated delivery as well as catering applications. The refrigerated trucks of class 4 have a single interior wall structure, and higher insulation than traditional trucks, enable seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer lifespan. The EV Star REEFERX offers superior cargo capacity, and an industry-leading payload to reach the range of zero-emission goods or passenger transportation.

GreenPower has partnered with Perrone Robotics to up-fit the EV Star with their TONY (To Navigate You) autonomous vehicle system. This will allow fleets to easily change to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be able to support wireless charging at 75 kW.

We had the chance to test drive the EV9 for several hours on a local freeway, and found it easy to drive and comfortable for long distances. The ride is smooth over bumps and ruts, and the EV9 does a great job of suppressing the sound of traffic and wind on the highway.  power mobility scooter  is surprisingly quick and the vehicle has adjustable regenerative braking that allows "one pedal driving" by taking off the accelerator.

The EV9 offers a great range and can be charged within three hours or less at home, or by using any commercial charger. The driver can select from two operating modes - eco mode and sport mode. The eco mode prioritizes the torque and cruise control, while the sport mode is designed to maximize speed and handling. Both are fun to drive and offer an unique experience for anyone that has not driven an electric vehicle before.

GreenPower offers several other eVehicles that include a multi-purpose all-electric minibus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used as executive shuttles, microtransit or transit vanpools, buses, and paratransit vehicles.

GreenPower produces about 10 EV Star busses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 all-electric cars. With the Biden Administration planning to electrify schools across the nation, GreenPower plans on ramping production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA certified. This means they'll be eligible for federal transit assistance grants. Keep an eye on us when we follow the AV Star on its tour of demonstration later in the year. We will be sharing more details on this exciting EV.
